7th partner meeting in Košice, Slovakia
22-24 January 2014
The last partner Meeting, organized by the Agency for the Support of Regional Development Košice, was held in Slovakia from 22 to 24 January 2014. On the first meeting day, local stakeholders, thereunder the tourism department and the operator of the Košice Children’s railway discussed together with John Jones from Fedecrail the regional potentials for multimodality. In a closed session, the project partners contrived outstanding tasks for a successful project finish. The lead partner Environment Agency Austria introduced possible funding schemes for follow-up projects. It showed that commitment to future cooperation is high among the partners. They are willing to set up a transnational project based on the results of ACCESS2MOUNTAIN. As a side event, the project partners were invited to experience a ride on the Košice Children’s railway, the only narrow gauge railway in the region. It operates merely in summer but on 23 January, a foggy cold winter day, the railway opened its doors exceptionally for the ACCESS2MOUNTAIN consortium.

6th Partner Meeting in Chinadiyevo, Ukraine

The Zakarpatian Ukraine is the land of rolling hills, rivers and fertile soil. The folk traditions and modern times live together in harmony in multicultural and multiethnic society. The sixth ACCESS2MOUNTAIN project partner meeting took place in a beautiful rural natural park with the ancient Schönborn Palace operating as health spa. The project partners presented and demonstrated regional pilot actions including small scale investments realized in the past months and exchanged experiences with the challenging task of stakeholder work and awareness raising. The new format of presentation with exhibition character confirmed anew its viability and raided lively discussions among partners. The following study tour introduced to project partners the beauties of the Tisa valley in the southern part of the region. A slow train ride spiced up the trip and the tasting of local hospitality sweetened the memories of the meeting.

5th Partner Meeting in Maramures, Romania
14-16 May 2013
Maramureş is the land of archaic countryside, UNESCO wooden churches and Carpathian landscape. It is also the place where our fifth partner meeting took place. From 14-16 May, the Romanian project partner CJIT Maramures hosted the project consortium at the premises of Suior Tourist complex, a small mountain resort located 18 km north-east of Baia Mare. A highlight of the agenda was the exhibition of regional project outputs through pilot activities in the participating tourist regions. This new format enabled a direct exchange among the partners and resulted in lively discussions. As study visit, the CJIT Maramures invited the partnership for a tour through historical Maramureş to see some of the visible results of the pilot activities. The project partner is developing a regional cycling guidance system. To facilitate multimodal transport chains for smart connections from A to B, minibuses are being equipped with bike racks to transport bikes for longer distances. The partnership enjoyed very much the hospitality of this traditional and rural-idyllic region.

4th Partner Meeting in Bolzano, Italy
17-19 September 2012
The latest results, pilot area activities and the upcoming Mid-Term Conference will be discussed at the fourth partner meeting of the Access2Mountain-project. On Tuesday, 18 September, the project partner EURAC research organizes an excursion to Alta Badia in cooperation with the municipality of Corvara, where the international project delegates discuss with local tourism and municipal stakeholders and get to experience the local soft mobility offers.

3rd Partner meeting in Miskolc, Hungary
18-20 April 2012
In April, the third partner meeting (organized by NORDA) was held in Miskolc, the capital of the North Hungary region. Besides an exchange on the latest results and workflows, an implementation plan for the second project year was discussed and the responsibilities were distributed among the project partners. After the work sessions the hosts introduced their guests to North-Hungarian cultural and culinary specialties. In addition to that, a ride on the marvellous Lillafüred railway was on the agenda.

2nd Partner meeting in Puchenstuben/Mostviertel, Austria
23-25 November 2011
In November the second partner meeting was organized in the Mostviertel, where first results and experiences were discussed and exchanged. Apart from reports on ongoing communication activities and data collected on a traffic model, first results were presented e.g. of a good practice study on regional railways. Besides the hard work, the meeting was characterized by the region’s generous hospitality and a memorable trip on the regional narrow-gauge railway, the “Mariazellerbahn”. The landscape and views of this trip proved to be an unforgettable experience in an area which was considered to be worth visiting again.

Kick-off meeting in Vienna, Austria

In June, the kick-off meeting was held in Vienna by the lead project partner. The partners had a first chance to meet each other personally and discuss the first tasks.
